Strong Demand for iPhone 16 Pro Models: Shipping Times Shorten, But Pro Max Demand Increases
Apples iPhone 16 series officially launched on September 20, 2024, and according to a recent report from TechInsights, shipping times for the new models are shorter compared to last years iPhone 15 series.
The report indicates that demand for the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus in key markets has started to decline, with their shipping times being 1-2 weeks shorter than the same period last year. Notably, the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max shipping times have remained relatively stable. Compared to the second week of the launch window in 2023, all four models have seen shorter delivery times in the US, China, India, and the UK.
For non-Pro models, orders in the US, China, and the UK averaged 14 days to fulfill in 2023. However, this year the delivery time has significantly shortened to under a week in the US, India, and the UK.
In the third week after launch, shipping times for the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus continued to shorten each week, making them available for immediate delivery in most major markets. In contrast, during the same period in 2023, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus took an average of two weeks to arrive.
Despite the overall shortened shipping times, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max shipping times have remained unchanged in most countries. In China, the shipping time for the iPhone 16 Pro Max has even increased.
The report mentions that Pro model shipping times typically shorten significantly week by week over time. This unusual pattern this year could suggest a higher proportion of high-end models in Apples shipments.
This trend also indicates a strong demand for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, which could be a factor contributing to the stable shipping times.
While demand for non-Pro models has declined, the shortened shipping times reflect Apple's improvement in supply chain management.
