The delay aims to give Tesla's team more time to refine the prototype vehicles. The design team reportedly received design changes this week. Earlier, CEO Elon Musk had set August 8 as the tentative launch date, generating market optimism and propelling Tesla shares on an 11-day climb, adding over $257 billion to its market value.
