With Google's annual fall launch event (August 13th) drawing closer, leaks about the new Pixel 9 series phones are increasing, and some of the configurations and appearances have been confirmed. It is reported that the Google Pixel 9 series will include four models: Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and the foldable Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Each model will bring exciting upgrades.

Pixel 9: Stronger Performance, Higher Quality Screen and Longer Battery Life

The Google Pixel 9 will be powered by the latest generation Tensor G4 chip, offering significant performance improvements. It will also feature a Samsung M14 OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1800 nits, providing a smoother and clearer visual experience. The Pixel 9 will be available in four color options: Emerald, Obsidian, Peony, and Porcelain, and will come equipped with a 6.24-inch centered punch-hole display with a resolution of 1080x2424.

In terms of imaging, the Pixel 9 will adopt a protruding pill-shaped rear camera setup, including a 50MP main camera and a 48MP ultrawide lens. The front camera will be a 10.5MP selfie lens. The battery capacity has been increased by 3% compared to the previous generation Pixel 8, and it will support faster charging, with an estimated 55% charge in 30 minutes. The Pixel 9 Pro will be available in four color options: Beige, Pink, Light Green, and Dark Gray. It will feature a 6.34-inch panel with a resolution of 1280x2856, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 2050 nits. In terms of imaging, the Pixel 9 Pro will feature a more powerful triple camera system, including a 50MP Sony IMX858 main camera, a 48MP Sony IMX386 ultrawide lens, and a 48MP telephoto lens, with support for AI imaging features. The front camera has been upgraded to 42MP and now includes autofocus, while retaining the infrared thermometer.

The Pixel 9 Pro will also offer 16GB of RAM and four storage options: 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, catering to the storage needs of different users. The Pixel 9 Pro will come with a 45W USB-C charger and promise "24-hour battery life". In "Extreme Battery Saver" mode, the battery life can even reach 100 hours.

Pixel 9 Pro XL: Larger Screen, Longer Battery Life

The Pixel 9 Pro XL will be available in the same four color options as the Pixel 9 Pro, but will feature a 6.73-inch panel with a resolution of 1344x2992, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 2050 nits. Pixel 9 Pro Fold: Lighter, Larger Screen, Longer Battery Life

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is Google's first foldable phone. Compared to the previous generation Pixel Fold, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold has been upgraded in several aspects. When folded, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is 10.5mm thick and 5.1mm when unfolded, weighing 257g, which is 10% lighter than the Pixel Fold. The inner screen size has been upgraded from 7.6 inches to 8.0 inches, with a full-screen HDR brightness from 1000 nits to 1600 nits, a resolution of 2152x2076, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a pixel density of 374 PPI. The outer screen size has been upgraded from 5.8 inches to 6.24 inches, with a resolution of 1080x2424, a full-screen HDR brightness from 1200 nits to 1800 nits, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a pixel density of 425 PPI.

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold will offer 12GB of RAM and two storage options: 256GB and 512GB. The imaging specifications remain consistent with the first-generation Pixel Fold, featuring a 48MP main camera, a 10.8MP telephoto lens, and a 10.5MP ultrawide camera.
