According to Mark Gurman, a well-known Apple analyst at Bloomberg, the iPhone 16 series this year will not see significant changes compared to its predecessors. However, the upcoming iPhone 17 series is expected to bring major adjustments, the most notable of which is a brand new ultra-thin model.

Gurman confirmed that Apple is developing an ultra-thin model called "iPhone 17 Air," positioned between the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro. The design philosophy aims to create an "Air" style iPhone. He predicts this ultra-thin model will be more popular than previous iPhone 12/13 mini and iPhone 14/15/16 Plus models.

Regarding the specific details of this ultra-thin model, Gurman mentioned that Apple hopes to incorporate the high-performance configuration of the Pro version into a smaller form factor, but this goal may not be achievable until 2027. With a thinner profile, Apple might launch a flagship model called "iPhone Ultra," which is more appealing than the previously rumored "iPhone 17 Slim."

Furthermore, Gurman also revealed news about future iPhone SE models. He stated that the iPhone SE4 will adopt a similar design to the iPhone 14 and support Apple Intelligence, implying that this new model will feature a powerful chip.

It's worth noting that analyst JeffPu predicted in May that Apple would make major adjustments to the iPhone 17 series next year, suggesting a "completely new design," improved front cameras, and a smaller Dynamic Island. He also mentioned that Apple would launch a new "iPhone 17 Slim" model to replace the "Plus" model, but this new model wouldn't be a continuation of the previous iPhone 12/13 mini.

Overall, Apple appears to be actively exploring different sizes and features for its iPhone models to cater to a broader user base. Whether it's the ultra-thin "Air" model or the powerful "Ultra" model, they all signal Apple's continued dominance in the high-end market and its constant expansion of its product line. In the future, we might witness more groundbreaking innovations, let's wait and see.
