The vivo X200 series is set to launch soon, and the renowned digital blogger, Digital Chat Station, has revealed information about the series' imaging capabilities. According to reports, the vivo X200 will be the first to feature a new large-sensor CMOS from Sony, manufactured with a 22nm process, and will come standard with a periscope telephoto lens. Previously, vivo had officially announced that the X200 series would debut the company's self-developed BlueMap sensor globally, the first sensor in the industry to support True-TCGHDR, indicating further enhancements in HDR preview and video quality.

The current vivo X100 features a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with the OmniVision OV64B64 sensor, supporting 3x optical zoom and OIS (optical image stabilization). The upcoming vivo X200 is expected to employ a new CMOS, boosting light sensitivity and imaging resolution.

Besides the imaging upgrades, the blogger also revealed that the vivo X200 will not see an upgrade in its fingerprint solution, sticking with the short-focus fingerprint technology. This news might come as a surprise to some, considering the continuous advancements in fingerprint recognition technology in recent years. The vivo X200's adherence to the old solution could spark some discussions.

Following the traditional release pattern of the vivo X series, the vivo X200 series will first release the X200 and X200 Pro, while the ultra-premium model is expected to launch in the first half of next year.

The imaging upgrades in the vivo X200 series are undoubtedly worth looking forward to, with the new CMOS and BlueMap sensor promising enhanced imaging capabilities. However, the stagnation in the fingerprint solution is slightly disappointing. Let's wait and see what surprises the final vivo X200 series holds.
