On August 27th, China FAW's official procurement platform released a significant public announcement regarding the "Direct Procurement Candidates for Red Flag Mobile Development Technology." The announcement revealed that Hubei Starry Sky Meizu Group Co., Ltd. has been successfully selected as the supplier for Red Flag mobile development technology. This means that Starry Sky Meizu is likely to be responsible for designing and developing the first Red Flag branded phone, laying a solid foundation for its official unveiling.

This collaboration is not just a move by the Red Flag brand to pursue mobile phone sales profits but rather a step towards enhancing the intelligent in-car ecosystem, enabling seamless connection between mobile phones and vehicles, and creating a more intelligent and convenient travel experience. This strategic direction aligns closely with the development paths of companies like Geely and NIO, aiming to integrate smart phones as a crucial component of the Internet of Vehicles, providing users with more comprehensive and compelling travel services.

As early as April of this year, China FAW signed a strategic cooperation agreement on intelligent cockpits with EcarX Technology, with both parties joining hands to develop high-end smart phones for the Red Flag brand. Notably, EcarX and Starry Sky Meizu are both companies under Geely's umbrella, making this collaboration in Red Flag mobile development technology procurement even more tightly knit. It also indicates that Geely will have deeper involvement in the intelligent automotive sector in the future.

In May, an image purportedly depicting the Red Flag phone circulated online. Although the picture's authenticity hasn't been officially confirmed, its design bears similarities to the Meizu 21 PRO. This may indicate the technical advantage Starry Sky Meizu possesses in Red Flag phone development.
