Xiaomi, a brand renowned for its technological innovation and exceptional value for money, attracts immense attention with every new product launch. Now, as the smartphone market continues to heat up, various manufacturers are gearing up to ignite a fierce flagship battle in the upcoming Golden Autumn season. Xiaomi naturally won't be absent from this competition. The long-rumored Xiaomi 15 series, the brand's flagship model, has officially entered the network, signaling Xiaomi's imminent powerful entry.
The models that have entered the network are the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, while the Ultra version is expected to launch in Q1 of next year. According to network data, the two new models, with model numbers 24129PN74C and 2410DPN6CC respectively, both feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, manufactured using TSMC's 3nm process and incorporating Qualcomm's self-developed Nuvia Phoenix architecture, boasts impressive performance capabilities. Its super-large core frequency has even surpassed 4.2GHz, directly challenging Apple's A18 series, with the potential to achieve a comprehensive lead in some scenarios. Furthermore, the Xiaomi 15 series will come standard with LPDDR5X and USF4.0, with the top configuration featuring LPDDR5T to further enhance memory speeds, delivering a smoother user experience.
Beyond core configuration, the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro showcase unique characteristics. The Xiaomi 15 boasts a 1.5K resolution screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and single-point ultrasonic fingerprint unlocking. It also features a square DECO-designed camera module, enhancing both visual appeal and practicality. In terms of imaging, it is expected to be equipped with a new lens sensor, although it might adopt a vertical telephoto lens to manage costs and improve grip. Battery capacity is anticipated to increase from 4610mAh to 5400mAh, with support for 90W wired fast charging and wireless fast charging.
The Xiaomi 15 Pro, on the other hand, features a 6.76-inch 2K resolution OLED screen with ultra-narrow bezels on all sides. It similarly supports high refresh rates and single-point ultrasonic fingerprint unlocking. While its main camera might not reach a one-inch sensor size, it shows improvements in dynamic range compared to its predecessor and integrates a periscope telephoto lens. Combined with Leica imaging, its camera capabilities are impressive. Battery capacity is anticipated to rise to 5500mAh, with rumors even suggesting a possible 6000mAh capacity. However, the charging speed might be reduced to 90W wired fast charging. Notably, both models will come standard with IP68 dust and water resistance, with the Xiaomi 15 Pro offering a titanium metal version and supporting satellite communication technology.
Apart from hardware upgrades, the Xiaomi 15 series will bring about significant changes in software, debuting the new Pengpai OS 2.0 system. This system is considered the complete version of Pengpai OS, deeply integrating AI technology to provide a more intelligent and user-friendly experience. Previous reports suggested that the new system version would accelerate its rollout and introduce novel upgrades in UI details.
In terms of pricing, leaks indicate that the Xiaomi 15 will start with 12GB of RAM, priced at 4299 yuan. Following the Xiaomi 15 series' entry into the network, its specifications are quite clear, leaving little mystery about its pricing. Given its anticipated October release date, the Xiaomi 15 series could become a formidable force in the Golden Autumn smartphone market.
