In the first half of this year, the Lenovo moto S50 Neo showcased its all-round capabilities in the mid-range market with its Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 low-power chip, dual-curve OLED high-refresh rate screen, large battery, and high-pixel OIS camera. In the second half of the year, Lenovo moto is once again pushing forward, launching a brand new small-screen phone Lenovo moto S50, aiming to fill the gap in the small-screen phone market in the 2,000 Yuan price segment. This 6.36-inch small-screen phone, with its superior durability, stronger performance, clearer screen display, and comprehensive imaging system, is hailed as the hardcore special forces soldier in the 2K price segment.

I. Appearance: 6.36-inch Small Screen, Leather Material Added

The Lenovo moto S50 series adopts Pantone color matching. Our version is called "Good Persimmon Orange". Through meticulous color matching, it showcases unique personalized characteristics. The color tone of this phone is not a highly saturated orange, bringing a warm and lively feeling, but also combined with a leather body, adding a touch of business atmosphere, and is not easy to stain fingerprints.

The camera on the back of the phone uses a triple-camera module, standard main long-wide three cameras, with a single-color temperature dual-LED fill light in the upper right corner. The "Pantone" logo is printed on the bottom of the back of the phone.

The front of the Lenovo moto S50 is equipped with a 6.36-inch small-size pOLED screen, 1.5K resolution (26701200) + 1~120Hz LTPO adaptive high refresh rate, local peak brightness of 3000nits, supporting 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. The display quality of this screen is top-notch in this price segment.

The top of the phone is equipped with a noise-canceling microphone, the bottom is equipped with a speaker opening, and it forms a stereo sound field with the earpiece speaker on the upper half of the fuselage, and also supports Dolby sound output. To the right of the speaker is the Type-C charging and audio input/output interface, followed by the microphone and SIM card slot. The power button and volume control buttons of the Lenovo moto S50 are both located on the right side of the fuselage.

The Lenovo moto S50 is hailed as the "hardcore special forces soldier" and is one of the first phones to pass the SGS Diamond Quality Certification. Therefore, we conducted drop and waterproof tests on its durability performance.

1. Drop Test

We dropped the Lenovo moto S50 from a height of about 1.22 meters, allowing it to free fall onto a hard marble floor. Upon picking up the phone, the S50 remained intact in this impact, with no scratches or cracks on the screen, nor any paint chipping on the frame and back panel. This performance not only proves the success of the S50's durable design, but also demonstrates its ability to effectively protect internal components and maintain external integrity in the face of accidental drops in daily use.

2. Waterproof Test

The Lenovo moto S50 has been subjected to direct water tap flushing, with no water ingress in any part of the fuselage, proving its IP68-level waterproof performance. Even under the direct impact of water flow onto the entire body, the phone's functions remain operational, the screen remains responsive and unaffected, ensuring reliability in humid environments.

III. Performance and Gaming: Dimensity 7300 Chip, All Popular Mobile Games Can Be Played Smoothly

The Lenovo moto S50 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chip, built on TSMC's 4nm process, adopting a 42.5Ghz Cortex-A78 and 42.0GHz Cortex-A55 eight-core architecture. Our version is 12GB+512GB, and we will turn off the phone's memory expansion and turn on the phone's high-performance mode to conduct a set of theoretical performance tests.

Theoretical Performance Test

First is the AnTuTu comprehensive test. The MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chip scores a total of 693,700 points, with a CPU score of 211,794 and a GPU score of 148,037, which is basically equivalent to the comprehensive capabilities of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865. In the CPU single-item test, the Lenovo moto S50 scores 1053 in GeekBench6 single-core and 2989 in multi-core, which can compete with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2.

In the GPU test, the six 1080P scores of GFXBench are as follows:

Finally, the Androbench storage single-item test shows that the Lenovo moto S50 has a sequential read rate of 1030.8MB/s, a sequential write rate of 935.45MB/s, a random read speed of 330.43MB/s, and a random write speed of 370.09MB/s, which is the level of UFS2.2.

Game Test

In the game test session, we conducted the test in an office environment with a room temperature of 26 degrees Celsius, choosing three popular mobile games, "King's Glory", "Peace Elite", and "Call of Duty", to test their frame rate and temperature. During the test, we turned on the phone's high-performance mode and turned off the phone's memory expansion function.

1. King's Glory

First is the "King's Glory" mobile game. With the highest quality and highest frame rate, the game runs at a maximum of 90FPS. After a 5V5 team battle test, the average frame rate of the 15-minute game stabilized at 89.85FPS, with the frame rate curve almost staying on the full-frame baseline without significant frame drops. The Dimensity 7300 chip can perfectly and smoothly run the "King's Glory" 90-frame mode with lower load. In terms of temperature, the back of the phone reaches a maximum temperature of 39.2 degrees Celsius after the game.

2. Peace Elite

"Peace Elite" mobile game, with smooth frame rate, the game can run at a maximum of 60FPS. After a fierce team battle, the average frame rate of the 15-minute game stabilized at 59.91FPS. The maximum temperature of the back of the phone is 41.1 degrees Celsius.

3. Call of Duty

Finally, we tested the "Call of Duty Mobile" game. With detailed setting + extreme frame rate, the average frame rate of a single game is full frame, 60.3FPS. The maximum temperature on the back of the phone is 38.1 degrees Celsius.

The Lenovo moto S50 rear full-focal length triple-camera module, the main camera is equipped with the Sony IMX896 large-bottom camera, with a 1/1.56-inch sensing unit, F1.8 aperture, and supports OIS optical image stabilization. The telephoto lens uses a 10-megapixel Samsung S5K3K1 sensor, supports 3x optical zoom and up to 30x digital zoom, and also supports OIS optical image stabilization. The ultra-wide-angle lens uses a 13-megapixel Galaxy GC13a2 sensor, supporting 123FOV.
