Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, in his latest report, predicts that Apple will introduce a new iPad mini at an October event. He briefly mentions that the new iPad mini will debut alongside the first Macs featuring the M4 series chips.
Gurman anticipates that the new iPad mini will be unveiled at an October event alongside the first Macs to feature the M4 chip, including the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac. The M4 chip made its debut earlier this year in the iPad Pro. Apple has yet to confirm any October event this year. In 2023, Apple held an online event on October 30th, launching the MacBook Pro and iMac models featuring the M3 series chips.
Gurman didn't disclose any planned new features for the seventh-generation iPad mini, but prior rumors suggest that the next iteration will include a faster chip, upgraded front and rear cameras, a fix for the vertical jelly scrolling screen tearing, support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, and new color choices. Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously stated that the next-generation iPad mini would begin mass production in the second half of 2024.
