Bitcoin Surges Over 3%, CME Bitcoin Futures Close at $60,200, Crypto-Related Stocks Rise Across the Board
On Tuesday (September 17), in New York's closing trade, the CME Bitcoin futures BTC main contract closed at $60,200.00, up 3.82% from the previous day's close. The CME Ethereum futures DCR main contract closed at $2,347.50, up 3.03% from Monday. Among crypto-related stocks and blockchain stocks, IDEX gained 137.5% after a Delaware judge ruled that Massachusetts-based WiTricity failed to comply with local regulations and thus deemed the company's patent lawsuit against IDEX invalid. BitDigital surged 10.98%, while the ProShares Bitcoin Strategy ETF (BITO) rose 3.59% and the ProShares Ether Strategy ETF (ETHA) climbed 3.54%. Meanwhile, MicroStrategy (MSTR), known for its large Bitcoin holdings, slipped 2.42%, BTCDigital dropped 3.55%, and the ProShares Short Bitcoin Strategy ETF fell 6.76%.
