Samsung Galaxy S25 Series Charging Power Revealed: Same as Previous Generation, No Surprises

The Samsung Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+, expected to launch in January this year, are slowly making their way through certifications from regulatory bodies worldwide. Today, China's 3C certification reveals a disappointing fact: both phones will have the same maximum charging levels as their predecessors. The Galaxy S25 will have a maximum charging power of 25W, while the Galaxy S25+ will have a maximum charging power of 45W. Of course, this is only possible through USB-C charging adapters.

Sadly, wireless charging speeds were not certified through 3C, so we'll have to wait for confirmation on those details. Meanwhile, another stagnant area of the Samsung flagship smartphone lineup is the design of the Galaxy S25 and S25+, which is virtually indistinguishable from the Galaxy S24 and S24+. It's clear the S25 and S25+ will focus on incremental improvements without revolutionizing the market in any way.

Similar to the S24 series, the Galaxy S25 models will not include a charger in the retail packaging. Reports suggest the S25 will come with a 4000mAh battery, while the S25Plus will pack a 4900mAh battery. The S25 Ultra is expected to feature a 5000mAh battery. Of course, all these devices will support wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.

Interestingly, the S25 Ultra's 3C certification suggests it could be the first Samsung smartphone to support satellite connectivity. It's presumed all three S25 models will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip for Galaxy.

With the 3C certification cleared, the S25 series appears on track for a January 2025 launch. In related news, Samsung is developing several new devices for different markets. The brand is expected to launch its flagship Galaxy Tab S10 series of tablets later this month. Additionally, there are rumors of the brand developing a Galaxy S24 FE, which could be officially unveiled in October.
