Dimensity 9400 GPU Benchmark Leaked: Outperforms Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, First Mobile Ray Tracing
MediaTek is set to launch its flagship smartphone processor, the Dimensity 9400, in October this year. Recently, blogger @DigitalChatStation has released benchmark data for the Dimensity 9400's GPU. The processor scored 134fps in the GFX Aztec 1440P off-screen Vulkan test, surpassing Apple's A18 Pro by 86% and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 by 341%.
The powerful performance of the Dimensity 9400 stems from its newly integrated Mali-G925-Immortalis MC12 GPU. Arm claims this GPU is their "most powerful and efficient GPU yet." Compared to the previous generation G720, the graphics performance has been enhanced by 37%, ray tracing performance for complex objects has increased by 52%, AI and machine learning workload performance has improved by 34%, and power consumption has dropped by 30%.
Beyond its GPU advancements, the Dimensity 9400 also packs a 3.63GHz Arm Cortex-X925 core, showcasing its powerful CPU as well. Prior leaks suggest the Dimensity 9400's GPU performance exceeds Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 by around 30%, and it will be the first to feature ray tracing technology on mobile devices.
