OPPO's product head, Zhou Yibao, recently announced that the upcoming OPPO Find X8 smartphone will be thinner and lighter than its predecessor, the Find X7, with a smaller size, a larger battery, and a less prominent camera bump. This news has sparked significant market buzz, generating high anticipation for the new device.

Zhou Yibao revealed that the OPPO Find X8 series has made "significant advancements" in terms of thinness. The Find X8 Ultra's narrow bezels are "even more stunning." This suggests the new phone will further reduce its size compared to its predecessor, with a consistently slim design across all models, likely leading to improved battery life.

To achieve this, OPPO has invested heavily in research and development. Zhou Yibao stated that OPPO has "spent three years and over 100 million yuan in R&D on bezel technology." This includes development of basic materials like adhesives and investment in production line equipment for mass production.

Earlier leaks suggested that the OPPO Find X8 series will include three models: standard, Pro, and Ultra. The Pro model will also have a satellite communication version. Weibo blogger @Digital Chat Station revealed that the new ColorOS 15 operating system is set to launch on October 17th. Four days later, the standard and Pro versions of the OPPO Find X8 series will be officially released, alongside the Pad 3 Pro tablet, Enco X3 earphones, a new color for the Watch X smartwatch, and magnetic ecosystem accessories.

ColorOS 15 will feature new layered depth wallpapers, smooth lock screen unlocking animations, a separated control center, real-time Gaussian blur support, a UI style overhaul, and a redesigned Xiaobu assistant with swipe-based page turning.

In terms of design, the OPPO Find X8 will feature a narrow-bezel centered punch-hole straight screen and a metal frame. The side of the device will have a separate non-protruding button, which is expected to offer one-touch access to camera functions, potentially integrating multi-functional interactions and offering enhanced control possibilities.

In terms of key specifications, the entire OPPO Find X8 series will support 80W fast charging. Considering the 80W charging scheme, the OPPO Find X8 series battery capacity is likely to exceed previously rumored 5700mAh and reach 6000mAh. Additionally, reports suggest that the Ultra version may upgrade to a 6500mAh or even 7000mAh ultra-large battery, but specific details remain to be confirmed.

Based on recent information, the OPPO Find X8 will have a glass body, available in black, white, blue, and pink colors. The OPPO Find X8 Pro will also have a glass body, available in black, white, and blue. It will feature a 6.8-inch 1.5K slightly curved screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and ultrasonic in-display fingerprint unlocking. It may adopt a quad-camera setup, including two Sony IMX882 periscopes and a 50MP 1/1.4-inch sensor main camera.
