Earlier this year, HMD announced a major strategic shift, abandoning the Nokia smartphone brand and launching devices under its own HMD brand. This move signifies HMD's attempt to break free from its reliance on the Nokia brand and establish its own brand image.

Over the past few months, HMD has continued to offer Nokia-branded smartphones, feature phones, and tablets. However, recent signs suggest that the supply of Nokia-branded devices has ended, at least in Europe. On HMD.com/UK, no Nokia smartphone products can be found anymore.

In most parts of Europe, Nokia-branded devices are also unavailable on the official HMD website. This phenomenon seems to indicate that HMD is gradually phasing out Nokia-branded phone sales in the European market.

Despite this, Nokia devices are still available in HMD stores in Asia, Africa and the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand, and Latin America. However, it is foreseeable that these regions will also stop supplying Nokia-branded phones in the near future.

HMD's support page still lists Nokia smartphones and feature phones, promising to continue to provide software support for these devices. However, the specific duration of support is unclear.

It is worth noting that Nokia Corporation (formerly Nokia) remains a major player in the network infrastructure business and one of the largest patent holders in the tech industry. In the past, Nokia Corporation has filed lawsuits against multiple smartphone manufacturers, including Apple, Samsung, and BBK Electronics.

Despite HMD's discontinuation of Nokia-branded phone sales in the European market, Nokia Corporation still maintains significant influence in other areas. In the future, HMD may focus more on developing its own brand and invest more resources in research and development and marketing.
