Industry media analysts have predicted that the event will see the launch of the Nova 13 series of phones. Notably, last week, market research firm CINNOResearch released data showing that Huaweis domestic sales in August 2024 surpassed Apple for the first time in 46 months.
Huaweis mobile phone business is experiencing rapid growth. In the second half of 2023, the Huawei MATE60 series was warmly received, reigniting premium growth. According to the W14-W26 report compiled by market research firm BCI, Huawei ranked fifth in the Chinese smartphone market in the second quarter of 2024 with 9.95 million activations. Among the top six phone brands, Huawei recorded the fastest growth rate, outpacing its competitors with a 43% increase. echInsights data shows that Huawei's global smartphone shipments grew 49% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2024, reaching 11.6 million units. Meanwhile, due to the significant proportion of high-end models (combination of Mate and Pura series), its average selling price (ASP) and wholesale revenue both hit record highs. The Chinese market remains Huaweis core market, accounting for 89% of its global smartphone shipments. Open Source Securities points out that with the stabilization of the supply chain and breakthroughs in R&D, Huaweis phone shipments are expected to reach 80-90 million units by 2025. The arrival of HarmonyOS NEXT will further contribute to Huawei's sales growth.
