The first launch took place on Sunday, with the Starship rocket blasting off from the southern tip of Texas. The Super Heavy booster returned to the launch pad, with the launch tower's robotic arm successfully catching the 60-meter-tall first stage, a truly remarkable achievement. Elon Musk, SpaceX CEO, declared this a "huge step towards a multi-planetary species." The upper stage Starship continued its journey around Earth, reaching a maximum altitude exceeding 130 miles (209 kilometers) before finally splashing down in the Indian Ocean, further solidifying SpaceX's accomplishment.
