OnePlus 13 Real Device First Exposure: Camera Design Overhaul, Refined Look Upgraded
While everyone is anticipating the Xiaomi 15 series, OnePlus 13, iQOO 13, and realme GT7 Pro, the sub-brands' upcoming models, are actively warming up for their release. Interestingly, all three phones are currently focusing their pre-launch promotions on their screens. OnePlus even held a joint screen sharing event with BOE. This suggests that the front design of these new models will be quite similar, with all featuring centered punch-hole displays, either with a pure straight-screen design or a curved edge screen. In essence, the front designs are not offering much in terms of visual differentiation. So the back of the phone has naturally become the focus of industry attention, becoming the most intriguing aspect for consumers.
And indeed, the first real-life images of the OnePlus 13 have been leaked. According to the leaked information, the OnePlus 13 retains the design aesthetic of its predecessor, but the camera area has undergone a significant redesign. It's no longer the design that integrates the frame with the camera module. The hinge design has been eliminated, resulting in a standalone camera area. However, there's an extension line on the right side of the camera area, where the Hasselblad logo is placed. Overall, it looks quite harmonious. Zooming in on the image reveals that the OnePlus 13 features three cameras, with the flash incorporated into the camera area.
The frame adopts a right-angle design with chamfered edges. The back panel also features curved edges, likely to enhance the grip. Visually, it appears quite slender, although the exact thickness remains unknown. As the leaked image presents a black version, the OnePlus 13's rich texture is readily apparent. This is a hallmark of OnePlus's strength, which made the brand a popular choice in its initial days. Additionally, the iconic three-part button design is preserved. Other aspects are not revealed. In short, the OnePlus 13 appears significantly more attractive than its predecessor, with a much more refined look.
Prior information suggests that the OnePlus 13 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chipset and will feature the world's first second-generation BOE screen. This screen will boast a 2K resolution and is the world's first display to receive the DisplayMate A++ rating. We won't dwell on this any further, as there's ample information online. It will house a 6000mAh battery and support 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. This year, it's essentially one version, making the standard model comparable to a Pro version.
