vivo officially released the major OriginOS5 system update in October this year, with the initial batch of beta testing devices (including vivo X100, iQOO12, and 13 other models) already receiving the update. Now, vivo's official website has updated the description of the "Find" network feature. This feature is a short-range information network comprised of numerous vivo devices. When a device joins the "Find" network, it utilizes low-power Bluetooth capabilities to detect nearby lost devices. This feature is supported by select OriginOS5 devices.
The "Find" network operates by utilizing low-power Bluetooth technology on devices joined to the network to detect nearby lost devices. Once a lost device is detected, its location is anonymized, encrypted, and uploaded to the server. This location data is only accessible on trusted vivo devices; vivo cannot decrypt the reported location data, nor will it share it with any third-party entities.
To use the "Find" network feature, the following conditions must be met:
1. The "Find" network feature must be enabled on the device before it is lost.
2. Bluetooth and location services must be enabled on the device.
3. The device can still be located even without an internet connection or when powered off.
If a device is lost, users can log in to cloud.vivo.com to locate, lock, and erase the device data. It's important to note that the "Find" network's offline location feature is only available for a maximum of 48 hours after the device is powered off.
The "Find" network feature is currently only supported by select OriginOS5 devices. Users can enable this feature by following these steps:
1. Go to the "Settings" app on your phone.
2. Choose "Security."
3. Choose "Find."
4. Enable the "Find Device" feature.
5. Enable the "Find Network" feature.
If the "Find Network" toggle switch is unavailable, it means that your device does not support this feature.
Besides the "Find" network feature, OriginOS5 also brings upgrades to the UI, lock screen, AI, and other aspects. Additionally, the new system's introduction to secure communication highlights "Enhanced Mobile Loss Protection," featuring offline/powered-off location, remote physical secure deletion, and activation of chip-level protection features.
The introduction of the "Find" network feature showcases vivo's commitment to user security. By leveraging a short-range information network comprised of numerous vivo devices, users can more easily recover lost devices and safeguard their personal privacy. This is undoubtedly a significant update to the OriginOS5 system, providing users with a more secure and convenient experience.
