Currently, iPhone users can only access Gemini through a dedicated tab within the Google app. According to 9to5Google, Google is testing a standalone app called "Google Gemini" on the Apple AppStore. This standalone app will offer more AI features compared to the functionality currently available in the Google app.

IT Home has noticed that the standalone Google Gemini app includes the GeminiLive feature, which is currently unavailable on iOS. GeminiLive allows users to engage in conversations with AI through voice commands, similar to using Siri or Google Assistant. This feature has been available on Android devices since September 2024.

Currently, Google has not officially announced a release date for the Google Gemini app on iOS. As such, it's unclear when this standalone app will officially launch.
