Data recently released by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) reveals a robust resurgence in China's mobile phone market in 2024. December 2024 saw domestic mobile phone shipments reach 34.528 million units, a year-on-year increase of 22.1%, continuing the upward trend observed in previous months. Significantly, 5G phones maintained rapid growth, with shipments totaling 30.433 million units, a 25.8% year-on-year increase and accounting for 88.1% of total phone shipments that month. This data indicates that 5G phones have become the market mainstream, reflecting growing consumer acceptance and demand for 5G technology.

Looking at the full year, from January to December 2024, domestic mobile phone shipments totaled 314 million units, representing an 8.7% year-on-year growth. While the annual growth rate slowed somewhat, it still signifies a positive market recovery. Consistent with the monthly data, 5G phones performed exceptionally well throughout the year.
