网站描述：中华女子学院是全国妇联所属、经教育部批准的全国唯一一所女子普通本科高等学校。学校已有60年的办学历史。陈慕华任学校名誉院长。其前身是1949年由宋庆龄、何香凝、蔡畅、邓颖超、康克清等革命前辈亲手创建的新中国妇女职业学校，后更名为全国妇联妇女干部学校。1984年升格为全国妇联管理干部学院，成为全国第一所独立设置的女子成人高校。1987年，为满足各界妇女不断增长的学习需求，学校更名为中国妇女管理干部学院。1993年学校进行迁址、扩建，并于1995年更名为中华女子学院，时任中共中央总书记、国家主席江泽民为学校题写了校名。学校于1996年开始招收应届高中毕业生，举办普通本科教育，2002年2月，经教育部批准，正式转为普通本科高等学校。2005年，学校顺利通过了教育部的本科教学工作水平评估，取得良好成绩。目前学校已成为具有普通本科、高等职业、成人学历教育、妇女干部培训及研究生联合办学资格等多层次的高等学府。拥有教职工456人，全日制在校生近5000人。
