网站描述：福建工程学院是福建省人民政府举办的全日制普通本科高校。2002年3月经教育部批准由原福建建筑高等专科学校与原福建职业技术学院合并组建而成，两校前身为解放前享有盛誉的“福建高工”，办学历史溯源于1896年清末著名闽绅林纾、末代帝师陈宝琛创办的“苍霞精舍”。学校办学以来，已培养了8万多名应用型高级专门技术人才，校友遍及海内外，许多人成为建筑、机械、电子电气行业的业务骨干和管理骨干。许多校友成为知名人士和杰出人才，杰出的文化战士邹韬奋、现全国侨联主席林兆枢、原福建省政协主席游德馨、副主席赵修复、卢浩然，原国家水电部副部长郑代雨、原广东省副省长王屏山，以及美国工程院院士林幼堃，我国飞豹战斗机总设计师、中国工程院院士陈一坚，原中国科学院学部委员卢衍豪、刘思职等就是校友的杰出代表。
