Counter trend growth! Motorola's sales in multiple global markets reached the top five in Q1

On May 15th, Canalys released a global ranking of key smartphone market manufacturers in the first quarter of 2023. From the overall list, Samsung ranked first with 60.3 million units shipped, Apple ranked second with 58 million units shipped, and domestic brand Xiaomi ranked third with 30.5 million units shipped. However, it is worth mentioning that Lenovo's mobile phone brand Motorola performed outstandingly in the first quarter of this year, achieving counter trend growth in key regions such as Europe and Latin America.

Data shows that in the European mobile phone market, Samsung had the highest sales in the first quarter, with a market share of 32%. However, the growth rate decreased by 18%, and Apple, ranked second, and Xiaomi, ranked third, both showed a downward trend. However, unlike the three companies mentioned above, Chuanyin, ranked fourth, and Lenovo, ranked fifth, have shown counter trend growth, with Chuanyin's annual growth rate reaching 188%, while Lenovo climbed to fifth with a 13% increase.

European mobile phone market data

In Brazil, one of the world's top five markets, and in Latin America, Lenovo's market share is second only to Samsung. In the first quarter, it accounted for 31% of the market share in the mobile phone market in Brazil, with an annual growth rate of 5%. Throughout Latin America, Lenovo's market share in the first quarter was 21%, with an annual growth rate of 7%.
