On October 19th, NetEase Technology reported that GitLab fully explained its platform development philosophy and goals to the public. CEO Liu Gang had in-depth discussions with the media on "hot topics such as digital transformation of Chinese enterprises, software research and development, technology autonomy and controllability, as well as the direction and trends of the company's future development in the era of AI big models. In July of this year, Liu Gang joined GitLab as the company's CEO and served as a director. Liu Gang has worked for Oracle, SAP, Microsoft, Shang Tang, and others.

Liu Gang stated that in the era of 'software defining the world', GitLab is facing unprecedented opportunities and will adhere to local autonomy and control to create an open source integrated DevSecOps platform. According to data, GitLab was established in March 2021, with technology investment from GitLab company. It was established in cooperation with investors Sequoia Broadband Cross border Digital Industry Fund and Gaocheng Capital.
