MicroStrategy, the world's largest listed company that holds Bitcoin, released its latest holdings data on Wednesday. As of October 31, it held over 158000 Bitcoins, with a total cost of $4.69 billion, averaging $29586 per coin. At current prices, these Bitcoins are worth over $5.6 billion.
However, the company's financial report released on Wednesday showed a net loss of $143.4 million in the third quarter, including a $33.6 million impairment loss on Bitcoin, as Bitcoin prices fell 11% in the third quarter.
Since then, Bitcoin prices have rebounded by 30% and are currently above $35000.
Since the end of the third quarter, the value of Bitcoin held by MicroStrategy has increased by approximately $1.2 billion, which is equivalent to the market value of the company when it began purchasing Bitcoin in 2020.
During a conference call after the financial report was released, Andrew Kang, Chief Financial Officer of MicroStrategy, stated that the company plans to purchase more Bitcoin.
