The leak also reveals that the new devices will have a dedicated rear-facing portrait lens, while their overall design will remain largely unchanged, with the Pro model featuring a periscope lens in its engineering sample.
Additional leaks suggest that the OPPO Reno12 Pro will sport a 6.7-inch ultra-narrow micro-curved display with a resolution of up to 1.5K and a refresh rate of 120Hz. OPPO will also reportedly be implementing periscope lens technology across its range, including periscope and variable aperture options, to provide users with exceptional telephoto photography capabilities.
The OPPO Reno12 series will feature a rear-facing camera system comprising a 50-megapixel 1-inch main sensor, a 40-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 12-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, with both the main and telephoto lenses equipped with OIS (optical image stabilization) technology.
For reference, the OPPO Reno11 has a front-facing 32-megapixel camera and a rear-facing camera system consisting of a 50-megapixel main sensor (26mm equivalent focal length, OIS), an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens (16mm equivalent focal length), and a 32-megapixel telephoto lens (2x optical zoom, 5x hybrid optical zoom).
