With the safeguarding of cutting-edge information technologies like blockchain and privacy computing, the infrastructure will simultaneously enhance both privacy protection and incentives for circulation value creation, establishing a new paradigm for sharing linguistic data for large AI models that leads the industry. Based on this model, the construction of a trusted circulation infrastructure for high-value linguistic resources was officially launched recently.
This infrastructure is spearheaded by the National Blockchain Technology Innovation Center and Beijing Energy Group, in collaboration with over 10 key linguistic data institutions in China, including the Xinhua News Agency National Key Laboratory and the China General Technology Group. This marks a significant milestone in accelerating the formation of high-level training grounds for large AI models, propelling China's artificial intelligence to achieve a leap forward and rapid development.
New-generation information technologies, exemplified by blockchain and privacy computing, possess exceptional capabilities including trusted evidence, immutability, easy rights confirmation, and comprehensive protection of data privacy security which enable the credible, secure circulation, utilization, and management of linguistic data. This effectively solves the issues of slow circulation speed and declining quality of linguistic resources, completely extricating the AI field from the "quagmire" of linguistic data circulation.
Earlier this year, a group of key units specializing in linguistic data in China had already begun taking action. Not long ago, over 10 institutions including the Xinhua News Agency National Key Laboratory, People's Daily, Higher Education Press, and China General Technology Group, joined forces with the National Blockchain Technology Innovation Center to establish a trusted and secure circulation ecosystem for high-value linguistic resources.
Beijing Energy Group, a core energy enterprise in Beijing, has been deeply supporting the digital new infrastructure for fields like artificial intelligence in Beijing in recent years. The Beijing Artificial Intelligence Public Computing Platform, constructed and operated by the group, has officially gone online and can effectively meet the needs of universities, research institutions, and small and medium-sized AI enterprises in Beijing.
At the 2024 Beijing Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem Conference held recently, the National Blockchain Technology Innovation Center introduced that the trusted circulation infrastructure for high-value linguistic resources will utilize China's self-developed and controllable, performance-leading blockchain software and hardware technologies to establish a distributed linguistic data interconnection bridge covering the entire country. This will link linguistic resource providers, processors, and demanders, enabling the credible access of distributed linguistic data nationwide, allowing for cross-regional discovery and access, and forming high-quality linguistic data sets.
Simultaneously, the infrastructure will leverage innovative privacy computing technologies, employing a "data does not leave the domain, but is usable without visibility" approach to ensure that the high-value linguistic data of large models cannot be re-distributed without authorization during processing and model training. Additionally, the infrastructure will utilize smart contracts to implement on-chain incentives, providing continuous endogenous impetus for linguistic resource supply and circulation.
