Zhanglong Group Issues China's First Digital RMB "Belt and Road" Corporate Bond, Supporting "Belt and Road" Initiative

Beijing, August 21 (CNR) -- Recently, Zhanglong Group Co., Ltd. in Fujian Province successfully issued a non-public "Belt and Road" corporate bond (Phase I) for professional institutional investors in 2024 (bond abbreviation "24Zhanglong05") on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. This bond is the first digital RMB "Belt and Road" corporate bond in China, and also the first ten-year private bond in Fujian Province.

This bond issue has a scale of 1 billion yuan, a maturity of 10 years, and both the issuer and the debt rating are AAA. BOC Securities served as the sole underwriter, with a coupon rate of 2.62%. The proceeds will be used primarily to support trade with countries and regions along the "Belt and Road."

It is worth mentioning that this bond was issued in the form of digital RMB, with Bank of China and Industrial Bank serving as digital RMB operators. It is the first digital RMB corporate bond in Fujian Province.

According to public information, Zhanglong Group was established in 2001. As of the end of March 2024, its registered capital is 3.829 billion yuan. The controlling shareholder and actual controller are both the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Zhangzhou City. Its main business revenue comes from commodity sales, engineering construction, water management, and real estate development. As of the end of 2023, Zhanglong Group's consolidated assets totaled 101.869 billion yuan, with total owners' equity of 32.978 billion yuan (including minority shareholders' equity of 10.724 billion yuan). In 2023, the company's total operating revenue reached 46.718 billion yuan, with a total profit of 6.40 billion yuan. In the first three months of 2024, the company achieved operating revenue of 10.177 billion yuan, with a total profit of 1.92 billion yuan.

The successful issuance of China's first digital RMB "Belt and Road" corporate bond by Zhanglong Group demonstrates its determination to actively participate in the "Belt and Road" initiative, and also reflects the application potential of digital RMB in the financial field.
