OnePlus Ace5 Series is Coming Soon: Featuring Snapdragon 8 Gen4 and a Dual-Battery Design for Longer Battery Life?
According to digital blogger @DigitalChatStation, the OnePlus Ace5 series is set to be released, split into standard and Pro versions. The OnePlus Ace5 standard edition will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 processor, while the Pro version will feature the new Snapdragon 8 Gen4 processor. Based on the leaked information, the new series is expected to be released early in the fourth quarter of this year, potentially aiming to capture market share.
Beyond processor upgrades, the OnePlus Ace5 series sports improvements in external design. The OnePlus Ace5 standard edition will feature a 6.78-inch, 1.5K resolution 8TLTPO LTPO curved display, supporting a 120Hz refresh rate and single-point ultrasonic fingerprint recognition. Additionally, the device will employ a dual-battery design with a nominal capacity of 6000mAh, a typical capacity of 6200mAh, and 100W fast charging support.
Regarding its imaging capabilities, the OnePlus Ace5 standard edition will adopt the family's circular lens design, equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera, but without a periscope telephoto lens. Notably, the device will also support IP68 dust and water resistance and feature a three-stage button.
The implementation of the dual-battery design will effectively lower power consumption, thereby extending battery life. As a reference, the OnePlus Ace3 Pro was released in June this year, featuring a metal middle frame and a three-stage switch design, priced starting at 3199 yuan. This device comes equipped with a 6.78-inch 1.5K display, supporting a 120Hz refresh rate, 4500 nits peak brightness, and features like wet hand unlocking, IP65 dust and water resistance, and eye protection technology. In terms of imaging, the OnePlus Ace3 Pro boasts a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 flagship main camera, supporting live photo AI noise reduction and AI super-clear group photo features. Additionally, it integrates the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 processor, a gaming-grade independent display chip, and offers a storage combination of up to 24GB LPDDR5X+1TB UFS4.0, featuring a built-in 6100mAh Ice Age battery with 100W fast charging.
Beyond hardware upgrades, ColorOS officials have announced an August experience upgrade plan, to be gradually rolled out to OPPO and OnePlus devices. The first batch of August upgrade features will be pushed out starting on August 2nd, expected to be completed by September 2nd. The second batch of upgrade features will be rolled out on August 10th and completed by September 20th. This system upgrade will primarily focus on improvements to imaging and interactions. For instance, album experience upgrades will allow users to customize image arrangement order and album covers, while supporting video playback at increased speeds with original audio preserved. Car+ car connectivity upgrades will enable independent navigation and media volume adjustments, optimize vertical screen car projection effects, and support Baidu Maps' automatic cruise function. Furthermore, ColorOS officials have also stated that this update will add practical features like smart fuzzy search, data cleaning, and password account display matching.
In conclusion, the OnePlus Ace5 series does not exhibit significant improvements in screen and imaging capabilities. However, it is expected to focus on performance and battery life advantages. The integration of the Snapdragon 8 Gen4 processor and the dual-battery design will empower the new device with enhanced performance and a longer runtime. It is believed that the OnePlus Ace5 series, armed with powerful hardware configurations and new system features, will deliver a superior user experience. We eagerly anticipate the official release of the OnePlus Ace5 series and witness its performance in the market.
