IT Home includes the following newly added products with discontinued support (excluding DEMO models, only listed for China region):

  • Xiaomi MIX4
  • Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro
  • Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 5G
  • Redmi K40

Xiaomi has stated that they will no longer provide software or firmware updates (including security updates) for products on this list, and may also no longer respond to security vulnerability reports for these products.

Xiaomi's product support policy states that they make every effort to provide ongoing security updates for their smartphones, covering Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO brands. The security updates provided by Xiaomi include the latest security patches, security issue fixes, and other security improvements. Generally, at least 2 years of security updates are provided for all phone products.

Xiaomi hasn't provided a specific reason for this decision to discontinue software support. However, based on past experience, some models may experience security risks after discontinuing software support, such as being unable to fix known vulnerabilities or receive the latest security patches. Therefore, users need to be extra cautious about security issues when using these models and take necessary protective measures, such as installing security software, updating the system promptly, and avoiding accessing suspicious websites.

Users can visit Xiaomi's Security Center website to see the detailed list of products with discontinued software support and stay informed about relevant information.
