HannStar, the self-owned brand of Taiwan-based display manufacturer HannStar Display, announced that it will showcase a range of display products featuring its ecoVISION E-paper technology at IFA Berlin 2024. The lineup includes e-readers, monitors, and digital signage.

ecoVISION E-paper technology falls under the category of LCD technology. It reduces reliance on internal light sources by reflecting ambient light, resulting in up to 80% lower power consumption compared to traditional LED-backlit LCD panels. It also provides a paper-like reading and writing experience. The technology supports 8-bit color depth, features flicker-free and low-blue light functionalities, and ensures clear content readability even under sunlight.

E-Readers

HannStar will showcase two e-readers equipped with ecoVISION E-paper:

• Large Model: Featuring a 10-inch panel, 4000mAh battery, and 4GB+128GB storage.

• Small Model: Featuring a 7.8-inch panel, 3000mAh battery, and 4GB+64GB storage.

Both e-readers run on Android 14, include adjustable front lights, enabling convenient use in low-light conditions.

Eye-Caring Monitors

HannStar will exhibit two monitors utilizing ecoVISION E-paper panels:

• 23.8-inch Pure Reflective Monitor: Ideal for environments with lighting brightness exceeding 500 Lux.

• 23.8-inch Professional Monitor: Equipped with adjustable backlight options for a more flexible user experience.

Digital Signage

HannStar will also display two digital signage options:

• 23.8-inch Mobile Digital Signage: Equipped with a built-in 9600mAh battery for convenient mobility.

• 28-inch Fixed Digital Signage: Featuring a larger panel size, suitable for fixed applications.

HannStar states that the ecoVISION E-paper products showcased at IFA Berlin 2024 are expected to be officially released between late 2024 and early 2025. They aim to provide consumers with a more energy-efficient, environmentally friendly, and comfortable display experience.
