OPPO Makes Alipay's "Tap to Pay" Feature a New Phone's Factory Inspection Standard, Find, Reno, and OnePlus Series to Support
This afternoon, Liu Dehuang, the head of communication software R&D at OPPO ColorOS, announced that Alipay's "Tap to Pay" feature has become one of the factory inspection standards for new phones. This means that OPPO's FindX/FindN/Reno series, as well as OnePlus's Number/Ace series, will all gradually support this convenient payment method.
According to IT Home's previous report, Alipay officially announced the launch of "Tap to Pay" in various cities across China in July. This new feature leverages the phone's NFC technology, requiring no additional operations. When the phone is unlocked and NFC is enabled, simply bringing it close to an Alipay payment device will redirect to the payment confirmation page, completing the payment.
Liu Dehuang stated that "Tap to Pay" has become a key interaction method. As applications based on "tap" are developed, OPPO and OnePlus phones have optimized and upgraded their "Tap to Pay" functionalities. Data shows that the number of OPPO and OnePlus phones supporting "Tap to Pay" has increased from 22 in June to 40 in August.
"Tap to Pay" and "Scan to Pay" both belong to barcode payment methods, but they differ in their technical implementation. "Scan to Pay" uses the phone's display screen and camera, while "Tap to Pay" utilizes near-field communication technology. Although their usage methods differ, both methods complete the payment on the network side after the interaction, offering equivalent security protection.
OPPO incorporating "Tap to Pay" as a factory inspection standard for new phones reflects its emphasis on a convenient payment experience. In the future, more users will be able to experience the convenience and efficiency of "Tap to Pay," further enhancing the convenience of mobile payments.
