Xiaomi 14T Series Global Launch: Leica Branding, Direct Competitor to Redmi K70 Series?
Many may not know that Xiaomi also releases a flagship series globally around this time of year. This series also falls under the "numeric" series, but it has little to do with the numeric series released in China. It's specifically designed for the overseas market. On September 13th, Xiaomi's official global account announced a launch event on September 26th, featuring the Xiaomi 14T series.
Information revealed that the Xiaomi 14T series will consist of two models: Xiaomi 14T and Xiaomi 14T Pro. The former is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8300-Ultra processor, with a 50MP main camera, a 50MP telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultrawide lens. The latter features the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor, with the same 50MP main camera, but a different sensor with a larger size, and the same telephoto and ultrawide lenses as the standard model.
Both models boast a 6.67-inch 1.5K resolution display with a 144Hz refresh rate, reaching a peak brightness of 4000 nits. They both sport a 32MP front camera and are IP68 water-resistant. From the leaked information, the Xiaomi 14T series features a distinctive design: a center-mounted punch-hole display, a straight-edged metal frame, and a rectangular camera module on the back, reminiscent of the Xiaomi 14 but with subtle differences. Surprisingly, the Xiaomi 14T series will feature Leica branding, indicating a collaboration with Leica on the camera system.
It's important to note that the Xiaomi 14T series will not be available in China. Industry speculation suggests that the Xiaomi 14T Pro might be a variant of the Redmi K70 Pro in China, while the Xiaomi 14T could be a variant of the Redmi K70 E. Of course, for users in China, this information is simply for observation. The focus should be on the upcoming Xiaomi 15 series, which is scheduled for release in October and will be the top choice for the domestic market.
It's clear that Chinese smartphone users are truly luckier than those overseas. Apart from Apple and Samsung, which release products globally at the same time, excellent domestic smartphone models are generally available in China first, followed by overseas markets with a significant delay.
