According to TheElec, a South Korean media outlet, Samsung plans to launch a scroll screen smartphone sometime in 2025. This is seen as Samsung's response to Huawei's leading position in the "triple-fold" phone market. Huawei earlier this month released the MateXT phone with triple-fold screen technology, generating widespread attention in the industry.

It is understood that Samsung's scroll screen phone will have a larger screen than the MateXT, potentially reaching up to 12.4 inches, and will employ under-screen camera technology. While specific hardware details have not yet been released, if Samsung can successfully bring the scroll screen phone to market, it will become the first manufacturer globally to achieve this breakthrough. Although sales did not reach the rumored figure of less than 300,000 units last year, the latest data shows that the combined pre-orders for the two phones in South Korea slightly exceeded 900,000 units, lower than the pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Flip5 by more than 100,000 units.
