IT Home, Sept. 21 - According to teardown analysis by TechInsights, all models of the iPhone 16 utilize Qualcomm's SDX71M modem. However, information regarding this specific model remains scarce. Considering that the iPhone 16 boasts an average 22-23% increase in both upload and download speeds, a feat unlikely for a contemporary product, the SDX71M is highly suspected to be a customized X75 counterpart developed specifically for Apple by Qualcomm.

It's noteworthy that the previous generation iPhone 15 Pro Max supported TD-LTE B46 band, which the X71M lacks, and the reason behind this omission is currently unclear.

This discovery has sparked debate within the industry, with many speculating that Apple may have reached a new partnership agreement with Qualcomm to secure a more powerful baseband chip. This could also imply that Apple will continue using Qualcomm's baseband chips in the future, rather than developing their own.

Of course, this information is currently speculative, and definitive answers await official confirmation.
