Huawei Autumn Launch Event: Pure-Blood HarmonyOS NEXT Debuts, Smart Ecosystem Upgraded
On September 24th, Huawei's Autumn Full-Scenario New Product Launch Event officially took place, and Lei Technology was invited to attend. While the event didn't feature any new phones, it showcased a plethora of products, including smart wearables, smart screens, smart speakers, routers, and even a new smart car, demonstrating Huawei's continuous breakthroughs in the smart ecosystem.
Powered by Xuanji Sensing System, Smart Wearables Rejuvenated
Huawei unveiled the HUAWEI WATCH GT5 series of smart wearables at the event, encompassing the HUAWEI WATCH GT5 in 41mm and 46mm sizes, and the HUAWEI WATCH GT5 Pro in 42mm and 46mm sizes.
The HUAWEI WATCH GT5 Pro 46mm version boasts IP69K protection, supports 40-meter dive-level waterproof, and features the HUAWEI Sunflower Positioning System, a first in the industry. This system boasts a 40% improvement in trajectory accuracy, 30% improvement in mileage accuracy, and 20% improvement in pace accuracy compared to its predecessor. It has become the first product in the industry with the "Excellent" positioning performance certification from the China Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center (Telecom Terminal Laboratory, or "TEL").
Beyond that, the HUAWEI WATCH GT5 series incorporates the Xuanji Sensing System, which integrates sensors to create a comprehensive life monitoring system. It accurately monitors six major systems: circulatory, respiratory, nervous, endocrine, reproductive, and movement, for a total of over 60 body metrics.
With the Xuanji Sensing System, the HUAWEI WATCH GT5 Pro introduces a new emotion state monitoring assistant function. This feature aids in recording three emotional states unpleasant, calm, and cheerful and provides guidance on emotional regulation. It can also perform periodic analysis spanning days, weeks, months, and years, continuously safeguarding the user's emotional well-being.
The introduction of the Xuanji Sensing System fully unleashes the potential of smart wearables, enhancing their perception capabilities, making health data monitoring more precise, and even enabling emotional monitoring. These advancements inject new life into the industry and point the way forward for its development.
TVs, Speakers, and Routers Arrive in Force, Huawei's 1+8+N Lineup Continues to Expand
Huawei launched the HUAWEI Vision V5Max110, its largest and highest-quality smart screen ever, captivating the audience with its impressive configuration and a whopping price tag of 69,999 yuan. This smart screen features a black diamond SuperMiniLED panel, achieving a peak brightness of 5000 nits, covering 91% of the BT.2020 color gamut, and delivering an 8 million:1 contrast ratio, rivaling OLED panels. The nano-composite low-reflection film provides ultra-low glare characteristics.
The HUAWEI Vision V5Max110 is powered by the HongHu Image Quality 3.0 system, which leverages a brand-new 3 billion parameter HongHu Image Quality large model. It introduces features such as AI clear upscaling and AI light sensitivity enhancement. The product's seamless connection and screencasting functions have also been upgraded. The TV is equipped with Huawei's Yue Zhang 3.1.2 channel sound system, supporting leading ultra-high definition audio and video standards.
Beyond the smart screen, Huawei unveiled the new SoundJoy2 smart speaker, priced at 999 yuan, emphasizing both sound quality and intelligence. This speaker incorporates HUAWEI's proprietary HUAWEI SOUND four-unit two-way acoustic architecture, encompassing a 20W full-range speaker, a 10W tweeter, symmetrical passive radiators, and Huawei's Yue Zhang bass enhancement algorithm.
Huawei also launched the new routers BE7 and BE7 Pro, priced at 599 yuan and 699 yuan respectively. The HUAWEI Router BE7 Pro supports the Wi-Fi 7 protocol, achieving a 6500 Mbps transmission rate. It's the first Huawei device equipped with four full 2500 Mbps high-speed network ports. The HUAWEI Router BE7 features two 2500 Mbps network ports and two Gigabit network ports.
The HUAWEI Router BE7 Pro is equipped with a six-channel signal amplification module and a hurricane cooling module to ensure stable signal and network speed, preventing frequency reduction caused by overheating. It's equipped with a built-in game acceleration function, offering free acceleration for multiple mobile games, reducing game latency by 37%.
With the addition of these intelligent devices, Huawei's "1+8+N lineup" becomes even more robust, delivering a more comprehensive user experience.
Beyond the Major New Products, HarmonyOS NEXT The Real Super Move?
At this year's June Developer Conference, Huawei made a grand announcement about the official launch of the HarmonyOS NEXT pure-blood HarmonyOS system for developers and core users in beta form.
During this launch event, Richard Yu officially announced that HarmonyOS NEXT will be open to public beta on October 8th, with the Huawei MateX60 series, MateX5 series, and MatePad Pro 13.2-inch series serving as the initial beta devices.
Compared to the current version, the most significant feature of HarmonyOS NEXT is the elimination of compatibility with Android apps. It solely supports HarmonyOS native apps, hence its description as "pure-blood HarmonyOS".
This represents a major leap forward for the domestic operating system, albeit a challenging and risky one. Currently, the domestic Android platform boasts millions of apps. While HarmonyOS NEXT originates from Huawei, its app ecosystem might pose a challenge in the short term.
Thankfully, it's expected that by the end of the year, over 10,000 HarmonyOS native apps will be available, covering mainstream software for daily life and work.
Hardware supports software, and software drives hardware. Powered by HarmonyOS NEXT, the potential of Huawei devices will be fully unleashed. Additionally, HarmonyOS NEXT's "once-developed, multi-deployed" feature eases the burden on developers in the smart era by facilitating app porting to Huawei tablets, smart screens, cars, and other platforms.
The phone is the core of the "1+8+N" strategy, and Huawei's phone sales have rebounded to the top five in China, boasting a strong user base. User numbers equate to revenue guarantees, and leading developers are likely to be enthusiastic about developing native apps for the HarmonyOS NEXT system.
Smaller software development companies or individual developers might lack the resources to develop apps for HarmonyOS NEXT. Therefore, Huawei needs to provide appropriate support to developers to expedite the construction of the software ecosystem.
It's evident that HarmonyOS NEXT requires substantial time for its software ecosystem to catch up to Android and iOS. Every journey begins with a single step. While the path ahead is fraught with challenges, it won't hinder Huawei's progress.
