The international edition of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra (model number SM-S938B) has recently appeared on the Geekbench benchmark website, showcasing its impressive performance. The device is powered by the "overclocked" Snapdragon 8 Gen4 for Galaxy chipset, which features a different core configuration compared to the standard version.
According to Geekbench scores, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra international edition achieved a single-core score of 3011 and a multi-core score of 9706, equipped with 12GB of RAM. The "overclocked" Snapdragon 8 Gen4 boasts 2 ultra-cores clocked at 4.47GHz and 6 performance cores running at 3.53GHz. The ultra-core frequency is higher than the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen4's 4.32GHz, making it the highest-clocked and most powerful Qualcomm mobile chip to date.
It's worth noting that the Samsung Galaxy S25 series with the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen4 has also appeared on benchmark websites, suggesting Samsung may offer two different versions of the Snapdragon 8 Gen4 in the Galaxy S25 lineup. This strategy could cater to different user demands for performance and price.
Besides the "overclocked" Snapdragon 8 Gen4, the Samsung Galaxy S25 series will exclusively adopt Qualcomm chips, abandoning its own Exynos 2500 processor. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo pointed out that the Exynos 2500 processor failed to meet Samsung's requirements due to its poor 3nm process yield and power consumption. As a result, Qualcomm is expected to become the sole processor supplier for the Galaxy S25 series, with its supply share significantly increasing from 40% in the previous Galaxy S24 series to 100%.
The adoption of Qualcomm chips across the Samsung Galaxy S25 series is undeniably a massive boon for Qualcomm. Not only will the company secure an order from the world's leading smartphone manufacturer, but it will also reap substantial profits from this generation of the S25 series.
The appearance of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra international edition on Geekbench signifies its imminent release. We can anticipate Samsung delivering even more powerful performance and a more polished experience in the Galaxy S25 series.
