Redmi Note 14 Series Released: Ten Years in the Making, Value for Money Reaching New Heights
On September 26th, Redmi held a launch event in Beijing for the new Redmi Note 14 series. As the tenth anniversary of the Note series, Redmi has poured a lot of effort into making it the most cost-effective product in the current Redmi Note series and even within the same price range. Lei Technology was invited to attend the launch event, and we will now delve deeper into understanding this product.
A Major Upgrade in Appearance, the Most Elegant Note Series Yet?
In the past, people might have associated the Redmi Note series with its high value for money, but its appearance design was often considered "straightforward" and "cheap." However, starting with the Note 13 series last year, Redmi began to enhance the Note series's exterior design. With the new Note 14 series, we are presented with highly distinctive aesthetics and a build quality that rivals flagship phones.
The Note 14 series features a centrally placed camera system, and to elevate the overall premium feel, Redmi has incorporated a ring of meticulously crafted textures around the camera module. The rear of the device adopts a dual-curved design, significantly enhancing the grip and feel in hand. In terms of color options, the Redmi Note 14 series offers Starry Sand Green, Mirror Porcelain White, and Midnight Black.
Beyond design and color changes, the Redmi Note 14 series has also undergone upgrades in its structural framework. The Note 14 Pro+ features a new "Diamond Armor" framework. Both sides of the device are equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass, offering stronger drop resistance. Combined with the "Infinite Shock Absorption" design, the drop resistance performance has been enhanced by 100% compared to the previous generation, making it one of the most drop-resistant products in its class.
Perhaps unexpectedly, Redmi has also equipped it with full-fledged IP66 & IP68 & IP69 waterproof certification. Coupled with the one-year battery lid warranty, one-year screen protection, one-year water ingress protection, five-year battery warranty, and 365-day "replace, not repair" service included with the first-sale device, it's safe to say that the Redmi Note 14 series further reduces user costs.
Performance Remains Top-Tier, the Ultimate Note Arrives
- In terms of hardware configuration, the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ globally premieres the third-generation Snapdragon 7s processor. This processor is manufactured using TSMC's 4nm process technology, with a flagship-level 4A720 + 4A520 CPU architecture. Compared to the second-generation Snapdragon 7s, its AnTuTu score has increased by 25%, making it a processor that excels in both value and performance.
Thanks to this new processor, Redmi has equipped the Note 14 Pro+ with a luxurious imaging setup: the main camera is the "Light Hunter 800," boasting a massive 1/1.55-inch sensor and a rare 13.2EV native ultra-high dynamic range in its class. Additionally, the 60mm telephoto lens assists users in achieving diverse compositional techniques. This combination has taken even Lei Technology by surprise who would have imagined that the Redmi Note series would now be equipped with a high-specification telephoto lens?
Furthermore, the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ features a 6.67-inch 1.5K High-Brightness Eye Protection Display, supporting a 120Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of up to 3000 nits, 20,000 levels of automatic brightness adjustment, Xiaomi QingShan eye protection solution, and original color display. As a result, it has earned the "Visual Health Friendliness S++ Certification" and "TV Rheinland Triple Eye Protection Certification."
Battery life is also noteworthy. The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ packs a massive 6200mAh battery, making it Redmi's first model to utilize solid-state electrolyte technology. Combined with the 2.8V boost chip, it achieves long battery life in low temperatures. The 90W wired fast charging technology also allows for rapid replenishment.
The Note 14 Pro and Note 14, on the other hand, are powered by the Dimensity 7300Ultra and Dimensity 7025Ultra processors, respectively, achieving a balance between performance and energy consumption.
