HONOR Magic7 Series is Coming Soon: 100W Fast Charging, Satellite Communication, AI Agent and More
Yesterday, five new models, identified as PTP-AN20, PTP-AN60, PTP-AN00, PTP-AN70, and PTP-AN10, passed 3C certification. The certification information reveals that all five models will support 100W fast charging, with two models additionally supporting satellite communication functionality. Industry analysts widely believe that these five models are the upcoming HONOR Magic7 series.
Recently, HONOR CMO Jiang Hai Rong shared a demonstration video of the Magic7 series on social media, offering the first glimpse of the new phone's front design. The video reveals that the HONOR Magic7 Pro will adopt a centered pill hole display, a deep curved screen, a right-angled metal middle frame, and a red power button, maintaining HONOR's signature aesthetic of elegance and refinement.
When introducing the new device, Jiang Hai Rong mentioned that the HONOR Magic7 will be the first phone to feature an AIAgent, an AI assistant that supports "one-sentence" cancellation of subscriptions. According to reports, the HONOR AIAgent possesses four core capabilities: natural language understanding and computer vision, user behavior pattern learning and scene environment perception, intent recognition and decision-making, and in-app and cross-app operations. This, in turn, promises to provide users with a smarter and more convenient control experience.
In addition to AI enhancements, the HONOR Magic7 series will also bring upgrades to its imaging capabilities. Recently, Luo Wei, the former Chief Imaging Engineer at Huawei and a current member of HONOR's imaging team, posted several photos with the watermark "HONORMagic5," accompanied by the caption "Trying out the new algorithm." Industry insiders speculate that Luo Wei was testing the HONOR Magic7 series. Combining this information with recent leaks, the HONOR Magic7 series is currently using a 50MP OmniVision OV50H main camera (1/1.3 inch, 1.2m single-pixel size) + 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope (1/1.953 inch) + 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens configuration. As a reference, the standard HONOR Magic6 features a triple rear camera setup, including a 50MP OmniVision OVH9000 large-size main camera + 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens + 32MP telephoto lens.
In terms of core performance, the HONOR Magic7 series will be equipped with the newest Snapdragon flagship processor and a large-capacity silicon battery. Recent reports indicate that the new flagship chip from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, will be renamed the Snapdragon 8 Elite. This chip will abandon the ARM public architecture and adopt Qualcomm's self-developed Nuvia Phoenix architecture. It will also upgrade to a "2+6" full-large-core scheme, completely eliminating smaller cores. Compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the new chip offers a 35% increase in single-core performance and a 30% increase in multi-core performance. Overall, it demonstrates stronger performance benefits in multi-core application scenarios, potentially delivering a smoother and more immersive graphics processing experience for users.
Previously, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated in a report that the new Snapdragon chip, due to its use of TSMC's latest N3E manufacturing process, will see a price increase of 25% to 30% compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Additionally, leaks suggest that the HONOR Magic7 series is ahead of schedule, scheduled to launch in October, potentially competing with the Xiaomi 15 series for a first-release advantage. This means that while the HONOR Magic7 series will bring improvements in performance, imaging, and battery life, it is expected to launch earlier in October. Its starting price may be higher than its predecessor's 4,399 yuan.
However, the authenticity of these reports remains to be further investigated. The actual configuration and pricing of the new device will only be confirmed upon official announcement. Stay tuned for the official release of the HONOR Magic7 series to see if this new device can stand out in the fierce smartphone market.
