Will the Honor X60 be the King of Mid-Range Phones?
Recently, blogger @Wangzai Baishitong revealed that a mid-range phone with extremely high sales volume is about to receive a major upgrade, surpassing its competitors in the same segment in terms of hardware configuration. Although the blogger did not disclose the specific model, based on various signs, this mysterious phone is likely to be the upcoming Honor X60.
It is reported that the Honor X60 series has passed 3C certification, and is expected to include three models: standard, Pro and others. Among them, the standard version supports 35W fast charging, while the Pro version supports 66W fast charging. Notably, the entire Honor X60 series will adopt the same "Qinghai Lake battery" used in flagsh ip phones. The battery capacity is expected to increase from 5800mAh on the Honor X50 to over 6000mAh, while maintaining the same body thickness.
In addition to improved battery life, the Honor X60 also features a bold innovation in design. According to reports, the phone will be equipped with a 1.5K four-level deep micro-curved screen and will support high-frequency PWM Oasis eye protection, further enhancing user experience. Moreover, the body structure strength has been upgraded, making it more resistant to drops, providing users with a more reassuring experience.
- The Honor X60 is expected to be the first to feature the Snapdragon 6Gen3 processor. This processor uses a 4A78 large core + 4A55 small core architecture, which can be considered a downgraded version of the Snapdragon 7sGen2. Overall, the Honor X60 is expected to achieve a significant breakthrough in performance.
As a reference, the Honor X50 was released in July 2023, adopting the tenth-anniversary special design "Time Wheel" and launching a vegan leather model for the first time in the X series, offering four color options: Burning Orange, Brown Blue, Rain After Sunshine, and Classic Black. The Honor X50 also adopts the Tai Chi shock absorption architecture, achieving ten-sided drop resistance. In terms of the screen, the Honor X50 is equipped with a 6.78-inch 1.5K ultra-clear eye-protection curved screen, supporting 1.07 billion colors, 120Hz refresh rate, and 1200nit peak brightness. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6Gen1 processor, has an 8-megapixel front camera, a 108-megapixel main camera + 200-megapixel sub-camera combination at the rear, a built-in 5800mAh battery, supports 35W fast charging, and starts at 1399 yuan.
Besides the Honor X60, blogger @Digital Chat Station has also revealed some parameters of a new phone, speculating that it is the standard version of the Honor Magic7 series. It is reported that this new phone will be equipped with a customized high-specification 1.5K display, a large-capacity silicon battery, and a triple camera combination of a 50-megapixel OmniVision OV50H main camera (1/1.3 inch, single pixel size 1.2m) + 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 periscope camera (1/1.953 inch) + 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens.
There is news that the Honor Magic7 series will compete with the Xiaomi 15 series for the Snapdragon 8 Elite premiere, and the entire series will support 100W fast charging. The Pro version adopts a centered capsule hole + four-level deep curved screen + right-angle metal middle frame + red power button design. In addition to the regular and large sizes, there will also be two satellite communication versions.
In terms of system interaction, the Honor Magic7 series is expected to come pre-installed with MagicOS9.0 based on Android 15. Recently, Honor launched a public beta test for version 18.0.18.201 of the Game Assistant App. The new version has redesigned the application UX and added a housekeeper bullet screen notification feature, which requires users to upgrade to MagicOS9.0 to experience. This feature will display application message notifications in the form of video bullet screens outside of the game, avoiding pop-up windows from disturbing the user's gaming experience.
Honor CEO Zhao Ming said that the Magic7 series of new phones features AI as its greatest highlight, and will be the first to feature Honor AIAgent, an intelligent agent that supports functions such as "one-sentence" cancellation of subscriptions, bringing a more intelligent and convenient operating experience. The Honor Magic7 series is expected to make improvements in performance, imaging, and battery life, and may be released as early as October, with a starting price likely to be higher than the previous generation's 4399 yuan.
Both the Honor X60 and the Honor Magic7 series will be released in the fall of this year. These two new phones will be key deployments for Honor in the mid-to-high-end market, and important breakthroughs in the field of technology. Let's wait and see what surprises these two new phones will bring.
