Samsung Galaxy S25 Series to Feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for All Models, Exynos 2500 Fails to Deliver?

According to media reports, Samsung plans to launch its Galaxy S25 series in January 2025, consisting of the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. Due to insufficient production of Samsung's own Exynos 2500, the company has decided to use Qualcomm Snapdragon chips for all models in the Galaxy S25 series, opting for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This aligns with previous reports from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who indicated that the yield rate of Samsung's 3nm Exynos 2500 was below expectations, potentially leading to its inability to ship. As a result, next year's Galaxy S25 series will reportedly utilize Qualcomm chips across the board.

As is well known, Samsung's foundry business previously lost the order for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Now, with the arrival of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Samsung has once again lost the contract, mirroring the previous situation. If Samsung cannot resolve the production and yield rate issues with Exynos 2500, it may continue to rely on Qualcomm chips in the future, which would be an unfavorable sign for the development of Samsung's chip business.
