Huawei HarmonyOS NEXT Public Beta Begins, Some Users Encounter Hidden Photo "Loss" Issue
Huawei today officially launched the public beta program for HarmonyOS NEXT on Mate60, MateX5 series smartphones and MatePadPro 13.2-inch series tablets. Simultaneously, Huawei Pura70 and 7 other devices have opened recruitment for the new system's Pollen Beta version. However, IT Home noticed that some users encountered a "loss" of hidden album photos after upgrading to HarmonyOS NEXT, causing concern and confusion among users.
In response to this issue, Huawei officially provided a detailed explanation, stating that the photos in the user's hidden album were not truly lost, but were moved to an album named ".hiddenAlbum." This phenomenon occurs in specific scenarios and is an optimization operation performed by the system during the upgrade process. Future versions will improve this behavior.
Here are the solutions provided by Huawei:
1. Temporary Recovery Methods:
- If you still need to hide these photos: Go to the ".hiddenAlbum" album, select all photos, click More in the lower right corner, and choose Hide.
- If you don't need to hide these photos temporarily: Wait for the upgraded version, and after the upgrade, these photos will automatically be moved into the Hidden Album.
2. System Version Update Resolution:
Huawei has already addressed this issue and is expected to release a system version update with a solution by the end of October. Please refer to the actual release time for the specific date. Users can patiently wait for the system version update and upgrade promptly.
It is worth noting that Huawei previously revealed that 10,000 apps and meta-services have been listed on the HarmonyOS NEXT app store, covering 18 major fields and meeting 99.9% of user usage time. The launch of HarmonyOS NEXT marks Huawei's continuous exploration and progress in the field of operating systems, providing a more fluid and convenient user experience.
For users, understanding potential special situations during system upgrades and cooperating with official solutions is key to resolving problems. With the continuous improvement of HarmonyOS NEXT, it will provide users with a more stable and secure system experience.
