Kuaitech, October 9 - Market research firm CINNOResearch released a report today stating that Huawei's domestic smartphone sales surpassed Apple's in August 2024, marking its return to the top spot after 46 months. IDC data shows that Huawei captured a 17.5% market share in the first half of this year, reclaiming the top spot in China's smartphone market. Its shipments saw a 110% increase in Q1 and 50.2% in Q2.

Huawei launched several new devices this year, including the Pura70 series and the novaFlip foldable phone. The novaFlip achieved sales of over 45,000 units within 72 hours of its launch, representing an 85% year-on-year increase compared to the PocketS. The outstanding performance of the novaFlip also helped Huawei secure over 70% market share in the foldable phone segment.

As a flagship imaging device, the Huawei Pura70 series covers price points from 5499 yuan to 10999 yuan. According to TechInsights analysis, the Pura and Mate series experienced a significant year-on-year increase in their share of Huawei's total shipments in Q2, contributing to a rise in the average selling price of Huawei smartphones.

Huawei's business performance in the first half of 2024 was also remarkably strong. Data reveals that the company achieved a sales revenue of 417.5 billion yuan with a 34.3% year-on-year growth, leading to a 13.2% net profit margin. Based on these figures, Huawei's net profit in the first half of 2024 reached 55.11 billion yuan, exceeding the 50 billion yuan mark for the first time.

Huawei's return to the top of China's smartphone market is attributed to its strong innovation capabilities and product competitiveness. The success of the novaFlip not only demonstrates Huawei's leading position in foldable screen technology but also showcases its competitiveness in the high-end market.
