Strong Demand for iPhone 16 Pro Series: Supply Chain Orders Remain Stable, Analysts Optimistic
Following the release of Apple's latest iPhones, analysts are closely monitoring supply chain conditions to gauge market demand for the new models. For the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, the outlook appears positive. According to TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, assembly orders in the supply chain are currently "unchanged." Notably, suppliers have been requested to continue production of the Pro models during China's National Day holiday. Maintaining production for specific models during holidays is typically seen as a strong signal of sustained demand.
Kuo stated that "Pro models' demand is generally in line with expectations so far." Despite the demand, there have been minor reductions in some component orders starting from mid-November. However, Kuo believes these reductions are "basically negligible," ranging only from 3% to 5%. These cuts primarily target the iPhone 16 base and Plus models. Demand for these two models is reportedly "lackluster" compared to the 2023 release.
In stark contrast, Pro model shipments at launch are mirroring the sales performance of the iPhone 15 Pro series, Kuo added. Currently, lead times for Pro models are actually shorter than those for iPhone 15 Pro versions.
Kuo will continue to monitor supply chain dynamics, especially regarding US market demand and shipment changes at the end of October. This timing aligns with the release of AppleIntelligence, which is expected to provide deeper market analysis.
