TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shared insights about Apple's iPhone 16 series shipments on X platform yesterday (October 9th). Citing supply chain sources, Kuo reported that despite the National Day holiday in China, the assembly orders for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max have not been halted or slowed down, sparking media speculation about market demand and Apple's readiness for the holiday season.

Kuo believes that the sustained orders for the iPhone 16 Pro series indicate that demand remains on track. Suppliers have been instructed to continue production during the Chinese Golden Week holiday, further confirming the strong market appetite for these high-end models.

While Kuo acknowledges that some component orders saw slight reductions after mid-November, these cuts primarily targeted the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, with a reduction of less than 3-5% and considered negligible. Additionally, he believes that demand for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus has not significantly improved compared to last year.

It's noteworthy that Kuo highlights the iPhone 16 Pro's shipment volume being similar to last year's iPhone 15 Pro, but considering the shorter production window for the iPhone 16 Pro, it showcases the substantial market demand for this model.

Kuo also points out that the next crucial observation will be the impact of AppleIntelligence on US market demand/shipments after its launch in late October. AppleIntelligence is Apple's newly introduced intelligent search engine, expected to influence user search habits and purchasing behavior, potentially affecting iPhone 16 series sales.

Finally, Kuo maintains his previous production estimate of 88-89 million units for the iPhone 16 series in the fourth quarter of 2024, slightly lower than the 90-91 million units last year.
