On October 10th, vivo unveiled its brand-new operating system, OriginOS5, at its developer conference. The system boasts significant upgrades across multiple areas, including AI, smoothness, battery life, design, interconnectivity, network communication, security, and user-centric features, ultimately delivering a more intelligent and convenient experience for users.

One standout feature of OriginOS5 is the integration of Jovi voice assistant and Blue Heart Xiao V, resulting in a more natural voice interaction experience. Blue Heart Xiao V supports always-on voice activation, offering voice input and deep conversation functionalities. Users don't need to explicitly activate it; a simple natural command is enough to retrieve desired information or initiate actions. For situations where voice input is impractical, users can long-press the bottom of the screen to bring up the Xiao V search bar for text input. Beyond text search, the Xiao V search bar integrates image search capabilities, allowing users to accurately select their search targets by highlighting, circling, or long-pressing, making it easier to access the information they need.

Furthermore, OriginOS5 offers a wealth of AI services, including:

• Xiao V Suggestions: Provides personalized recommendations and reminders based on user habits and scenarios, enhancing efficiency.

• Xiao V Memory: Records users' personal data and preferences, delivering more intelligent personalized services.

• Xiao V Cross-Device: Supports data synchronization and collaborative operations across devices for seamless connectivity.

In terms of design, OriginOS5 adopts a spatial system, delivering a more compact card layout and refined frosted glass material, enhancing the visual experience. The new system introduces the "Atomic Island" feature, which displays key task progress and phone status alerts at the top of the screen, such as ride-hailing wait times, device connection reminders, etc., providing users with a more intuitive understanding of their phone's state.

OriginOS5 also introduces performance optimizations. Utilizing the Ledger storage ledger mechanism and optimizing memory resource management, it reduces the burden on applications. The Virtual Graphics Card 2.0 technology enhances application launch speed and page transition responsiveness, resulting in a smoother user experience.

vivo announced that, starting November 2024, OriginOS5 will be progressively rolled out to multiple models, including the vivo XFold3 series, X100 series, iQOO12 series, and more, with broader availability extending to more models in December.
