Samsung Plans to Produce 22 Million Galaxy S25 Units by Mid-2025, Flagship Series Production Begins
According to a recent report by TheElec, a Korean online publication, Samsung is planning to manufacture 22 million Galaxy S25 units by mid-2025. This information was obtained from Samsung's primary component partners, who received the production plan forecast from the company.
The report indicates that Samsung's production prediction includes approximately 6 million standard Galaxy S25 units, 4 million Galaxy S25+ units, and 11 million top-of-the-line Galaxy S25 Ultra models. This brings the total estimated sales of the entire Galaxy S25 series to 22 million units.
Notably, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will account for half of the production volume, as it's expected to receive significant upgrades next year. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is anticipated to feature top-tier display and camera enhancements and utilize exclusively Snapdragon processors. Additionally, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will adopt rounder corners, replacing the sharp edges seen on the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
As in prior years, the Samsung Galaxy S25 series will consist of three models: the Galaxy S25 with a 6.2-inch display, the Galaxy S25+ with a 6.7-inch screen, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra with a 6.9-inch display. Recently leaked images of purported screen protectors for the Galaxy S25 series showcased the size disparity between the three models.
Rumors suggest that both the Galaxy S25 and S25+ will utilize the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset, as Samsung is reportedly abandoning the Exynos 2500 processor due to production issues. However, this information remains unconfirmed.
Beyond the Galaxy S25 series, TheElec also mentioned that Samsung might emulate Apple and release a Galaxy S25 FE (Fan Edition) phone next year featuring an ultra-thin design. The recently launched Galaxy S24 FE received numerous upgrades compared to its predecessor. To distinguish next year's FE model, Samsung might reduce its thickness and incorporate new camera sensors.
Overall, Samsung is actively preparing for the release of its Galaxy S25 series. Judging by the projected production plan and speculated upgrades, Samsung appears determined to maintain its leadership in the high-end smartphone market in 2025.
