Apple today announced updates to its Apple BusinessConnect feature, aimed at allowing any verified business to create consistent branding and location information across apps like Maps, Wallet, Phone, and Mail. Through BusinessConnect, businesses can present a more comprehensive brand identity and enhance user experience.

More Recognizable Brand Presentation

With BusinessConnect, businesses can now register to display their brand in the Phone app when iPhone users call them or in the Mail app when they send emails, making received emails more identifiable. For example, when a user calls a business named Starbucks, the Phone app will display the Starbucks logo and name instead of just the phone number.

Businesses can register brand email today and the logo will appear for users when iOS 18.2 releases later this year. This means users can more easily identify the sender when they receive emails from businesses.

Enhanced User Trust

Starting in 2025, businesses will be able to use Business Call Display to show their company name, logo, and department on incoming call screens. This feature will further enhance the user experience, making it clear to users who is calling when they answer the phone.

Additionally, businesses can now opt to display their logo instead of a category icon in the Tap to Pay feature on iPhone. Apple says this change will help users ensure they are paying a verified business.

While businesses have always been able to use BusinessConnect to apply for and manage their location cards in Maps, BusinessConnect now also applies to service-based businesses or online-only businesses that don't have physical locations.
