ColorOS15 not only boasts a more visually appealing UI design, but also significantly enhances smoothness, ease of use, and other aspects. Chen Xi, ColorOS' Design Director, stated that ColorOS15 adheres to the core principle of "Human-centricity," aiming to create a completely new system experience that is "ultra-fast and liberating."

Two Self-Developed Smoothness Engines: Aurora Engine and Tidal Engine

The smooth experience of ColorOS15 relies on its newly self-developed smoothness engines Aurora Engine and Tidal Engine. Aurora Engine, by creating the industry's first parallel rendering framework, achieves parallel rendering responses for multiple animations, effectively improving the perceived smoothness for users. Additionally, Aurora Engine introduces flexible rebound micro-animations at the system level, making the system experience more aligned with real-world physical feedback, providing users with a more realistic visual experience.

Complementing Aurora Engine is Tidal Engine, which offers a chip-level performance solution. Through two key technologies intelligent dynamic caching and a full-stack algorithm accelerator it ensures efficient resource allocation by the chip, effectively enhancing the overall smoothness and battery life of the phone. Official data shows that Tidal Engine can bring a 22% improvement in overall phone smoothness and a 12-minute increase in battery life.

ColorOS Super Computing Platform: A Powerful Guarantee for Underlying Capabilities

It's worth noting that the smoothness improvement of ColorOS15 isn't solely attributed to the two engines; it also benefits greatly from the powerful support of the ColorOS Super Computing Platform. By fine-tuning memory and performance, the platform effectively resolves the issue of background processes being terminated, achieving background preservation of dozens of applications. Even with 16GB of memory, it can easily handle daily usage, providing users with a more stable multitasking experience.

Real-World Testing: Silky Smoothness, Strikingly Impressive

To experience the smoothness of ColorOS15 firsthand, we conducted tests on OPPO phones equipped with ColorOS15. During testing, we installed 24 commonly used applications and evaluated aspects such as smoothness during application opening interruptions, App launch time, and background process preservation capabilities.

Smoothness Tests:

• Application Opening Interruption Test: While opening one application, we immediately returned to the home screen and then opened another application, repeating this process. The test results showed that ColorOS15's application opening interruption process was exceptionally smooth and responsive, without any lag. Thanks to Aurora Engine, during the process of opening two applications in succession, the animations of both applications remained uninterrupted, closely mirroring real-world visual experiences.

• Common App Launch Time Test: We opened 24 commonly used applications and recorded the total opening time. The test results showed that ColorOS15 took only 57 seconds to open all 24 applications, averaging a little over 2 seconds per application, demonstrating incredible speed. Moreover, during the opening process, COLOROS15 did not experience any frame drops, latency, or other issues.

• Background Preservation Test: After opening 24 commonly used applications, we randomly switched to third-party applications in the background. Test results showed that none of these third-party applications were terminated from the background, highlighting the exceptional background preservation capabilities of ColorOS15.

• Large Game Test: We simultaneously ran two large games, Genshin Impact and Honor of Kings, and performed game switching tests. Test results showed that ColorOS15 could continuously maintain Genshin Impact and Honor of Kings in an active state, ensuring stable game performance even under high load conditions.
