Recently, OPPO ColorOS15 was officially released, but some users have questioned whether the system treats different devices differently. In response, Chen Xi, Design Director of OPPO ColorOS, and Ma Xin, Director of User Experience and Solutions of ColorOS have offered their explanations.

Chen Xi stated that Aurora Engine in ColorOS15 is a system-level capability, supported as long as the platform performance is sufficient. However, Tide Engine is highly relevant to the chip platform and is limited to the Qualcomm third-generation platform (7/8Gen3) and Dimensity 9300.

Addressing the users' concerns, Ma Xin added that Aurora is a system feature, so if the chip capacity supports it, it will be reflected in the system, even if it is not displayed in the system interface. Meanwhile, Tide is a collection of features that combine software and hardware, and after upgrading from 1.0 to 2.0, it will be configured to all upgraded devices. Due to the fact that some features require the Qualcomm third-generation platform and Dimensity 9300 for full support, only these devices will display all Tide Engine features.

In simpler terms, Aurora Engine and Tide Engine differ in functionality and implementation, leading to distinct requirements for supported devices.

Aurora Engine, as one of the core technologies of ColorOS15, employs a system-level rendering and drawing architecture, bringing the following upgrades:

• Comprehensive Renewal of Animation Experience: Operation response speed is improved by 18%, control stability is enhanced by 40%, fluid cloud rebound animation becomes more flexible, 3D spatial animation effects are more delicate, and extreme feedback animation becomes more bouncy.

• System-Level Sliding Animation Covers More Third-Party Applications: Provides a smoother operating experience for users.

Tide Engine, on the other hand, aims to address the performance challenges of Android's separate storage and computation architecture, which results in insufficient cache resource supply and complex instruction architecture, leading to low algorithm efficiency. It provides a chip-level performance solution, delivering a more robust performance experience for users.
